Booking
I release my calendar one month at a time for appointments.
If no times are currently available, you will have the option to join my waitlist.
Preparation
To prepare for your appointment, please do the following:
Arrive for your appointment with your hair thoroughly dried in its natural curly state (air dried or diffused).
Wear your hair down with minimal product applied to define your curls. It is important I see your natural curls styled the way you usually wear them. This will help me see what you love and what you don’t love about your hair and how I can help you embrace your natural curl.
Do NOT arrive with your hair in any form that compromises your natural curl. For example:
-
In a ponytail or bun
-
In a braid
-
Straight
-
In clips
-
Brushed out
-
Wearing a hat
Cancellation
I require 48 hours notice for cancellations or to reschedule your appointment. Failure to give less than 48 hours notice will result in a $100 charge.
If you arrive late for your appointment, I reserve the right to reschedule.
I give special consideration for illness.
PLEASE, DO NOT come to your appointment feeling unwell, or if someone in your home is sick.
Thank you for understanding.
There may be no better way to communicate what I do than through images. Take a moment to see how I can inspire your curl journey.
My Curl Story
WE ALL HAVE A STORY ABOUT OUR CURLS.
HOW WE’VE FOUGHT THEM, EMBRACED THEM, IDENTIFIED THROUGH THEM. THEY REPRESENT OUR INDIVIDUALITY, OUR ANCESTRY, OUR PERSONAL EXPRESSION AND OUR STRUGGLES TO FIT IN THE NORM.
At the age of three, my mother chopped off all my hair into a pixie cut. It made her life much easier, but it made my life more complicated. Looking back, I realize how huge of an impact that had on my self esteem growing up. Being mistaken for a boy did not make me feel any better about myself. By fourth grade I had the voice to express I wanted to grow my hair out. I just had no idea what to do with it, so I fought every curl with all my might. It took years to understand the natural unique gift I had been given. Now I wear my curl crown proudly and it is my mission to help others do the same. It is a journey that would be my honor to take you on.
Having been in the hair industry for 30+ years, I have seen many trends come and go, and come back again. Curly hair was one of those trends...but it shouldn’t be a trend. Natural curls and waves should be embraced and worn with pride. After many years of searching for my true calling in the hair industry, I decided to make curly hair my primary focus behind the chair. It is where I feel most at home and end my day feeling fulfilled doing something I love.
I have received advanced training through Devacurl and am Level 1 certified in Rezo Cut and Rezo Highlights, and I believe in continuing education whenever the opportunity presents itself.
I look forward to meeting you and your curls!

FAQs
Q: How much will a trim cost versus a haircut?
A: Whether I trim off a little or cut off a lot I plan to spend the full amount of time with you to give you what you want. My price is the same. You will be the recipient of a customized curl cut and a full styling service along with personalized curl coaching during your appointment time with me.
Q: Do you cut children's hair?
A: I provide my service to those 16 years and older. There are times I will make an exception. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Q: I don't have a lot of time, how long will this take?
A: To get the full experience, please allow yourself the time to enjoy it. Expect the whole journey to take 90 minutes, but time can vary based on your hair thickness, length and condition. This is more than just a haircut. This is a journey to learn and understand your curly hair's full potential.
Q: How often should I wait between haircuts?
A: That all depends on many factors. Once I get to know you and understand your hair I can determine how often you will need a service. It can vary from 3 months to 6 months, or anywhere in between.
Q: Do you do color services?
A: I do offer color services. I believe in maintaining the health and integrity of the hair so my color services are gentle and always natural looking. A telephone consultation is required prior to booking. Please fill out my online questionnaire and I will schedule a call with you.
Q: I would like to book an appointment three months out but I can't seem to.
A: Appointments are opened at the beginning of every month for the following month. If all sessions are booked, then you can join my wait list and will be contacted should an opening become available.
Q: What is your cancellation policy and late policy?
A: When booking your appointment you will be asked for a credit card to hold your appointment time. Should you cancel less than 48 hours in advance you will be charged a $100 cancellation fee. If you are more than 20 minutes late I reserve the right to cancel your appointment. The $100 cancellation fee is non-refundable. That being said I understand there are unexpected circumstances beyond our control, including illness. Do not come sick. Communication is key.
Q: Do you sell gift cards?
A: I sure do! You can purchase digital gift cards through my website.
Q: Would it be okay if I brought my child with me? Or a friend? My dog?
A: My work space is designed for a one on one appointment. I love dogs, I have two of my own. Kindly leave your fur friends at home. This appointment is exclusively for your self care . Come relax and enjoy your time and the time we will have together.
